Mustasuo ("black swamp", named after a local city district) was formed in Oulu, northern Finland in 2015. Their music is a diverse mix of extreme punk and metal styles, with "blackened crust" being probably the closest simple definition. The band's latest release "Katharsis" is a dark and ferocious album, recorded and mixed by Keijo Niinimaa (Rotten Sound, Morbid Evils etc) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Converge, Obituary etc). Their earlier outputs include the digitally released debut "7" and a split 7-inch with the deathgrind band Napalm Ted.
